The Best of '06

Well, 2006 has gone by faster than I anticipated, it's been a year full of wonderful & not so wonderful experiences, (the wonderful) a trip to Mexico, got engaged & celebrated my 24th birthday, (the not so wonderful) Phoebe Philo's departure from Chloe, Kate back w/ Pete...again & lost my mum's vintage Gucci clutch among other things. Anywho, a collage of a few of my favorite stylish moments throughout this year...I'm eager to see what the new year will bring my way!

Stellar!

I have to say that I've become rather obsessed with these pretty pricey AsterCast stellium necklaces! A collaboration between astrology experts Stella Starsky & Quinn Cox & jewelry cult designers Ron Anderson & David Rees of Ten Thousand Things. These stellium necklaces rendered in 18k gold consist of old fashioned charm holders that hold exquisite, custom-made zodiac baubles representing your star sign, it' s color, your number, your birthstone & ruling planet. Read all about the stellar creation in VOGUE (US-Dec '06 issue)

Street Looks

While orange isn't particularly my favorite choice of
color in clothing, I am rather impressed with
how this femme pulled off this outfit.

A high-waisted dream

I want a pair of these super high-waisted '03 Chloe jeans! I've been on the hunt for them for quite sometime now & eBay has been rather disappointing.

List the jeans! List the jeans!

Brigitte Bardot

Feeling a bit French lately...Brigitte dons a few of my favorite hairstyles.

Jeremy Laing

Cool new designer Jeremy Laing is known for his structured silhouettes in classic materials, including gingham A-line halters & silk dresses with origami folds. My personal favorites include his pleated trouser shorts & trench coats. A few key pieces from his SS-07 collection

Little Miss Moffatt

It's dresses such as these by Lauren Moffatt that make it so tempting for me to leave the city life and head for the country where I can sit on huge porch swing & eat strawberries all day....yum.

Venetian Madness

This clever Marc Jacobs can not only design amazing clothing, shoes & accessories but he can throw a mean costume themed bash as well.
From the man himself:
"Of course, I'm expecting misbehavior," said Marc Jacobs at the start of his Venice Carnival-themed holiday party at Gotham Hall on Wednesday. "But," he added, pointing to his pigeon suit, "I'm not sure how I'll do wearing this." The designer wasn't the only one with wardrobe restrictions. "It took three gay men to get me dressed tonight," said Dr. Lisa Airan, alluding to the corset of her turquoise ball gown. "I can barely move but I can't sit down either." Airan spent the evening standing on the sidelines with Rachel Roy, Damon Dash, and her pal and co-dresser Gilles Mendel, who sported a white Phantom of the Opera-inspired half-mask. "Everybody else has those beak nose things on," said Mendel. "I'm trying to hide my long nose."

Miss Motorcycle Chic

The late '80s-early '90s are back. Not the headband, acid jeans era, but those glamorous wish-you-were-there-years. Im LOVING these tiny ruched Biker-Chic looking jackets...on my Christmas wish-list.

About a boy..well, 2 actually.

Ever since reading that article in VOGUE about how Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler asked a stewardess to pass Anna Wintour a napkin on which he’d written a note about himself, his love of fashion, and his admiration for her, this duo has since remained a stitch in my heart. A few looks from their SS-AW07 collections that had me Ooooh & Ahhhhing over

The Secretary

A little about "Le Secretaire"

After secretly obessesing over other people's blogs for about a year now?
I too have finally decided to jump on the "blog-wagon". Being as I can spend hours on end reading about, admiring & consuming fashion...this is my passion & my knowledge. I am not a fashion insider nor do I work in the industry so this will not read like that of a tabloid I do however, have my own taste & opinions so I can only write about what I know/love namely the following:

1. Vintage...collecting/selling
2. The smell & butterfly feeling I get at the arrival of a new magazine
3. Being a 24 yr.old American girl who would love to be Marie Antoinette or Carine Roitfeld if only for a day.
